A reciprocating compressor or piston compressor is a positive-displacement compressor that uses pistons driven by a crankshaft to deliver gases at high pressure. Pressures of up to 5,000 PSIG are commonly produced by multistage reciprocating compressors.

The flash gas is BOG gas. In order to make full use of this gas, the BOG gas can be pressurized to a certain pressure by a compressor and then directly supplied to the urban pipeline network, or it can be pressurized to 250 kg and transported to a compressed natural gas station for use.
Compressors for BOG recovery are divided into four basic types according to the flow rate of normal working conditions: 100Nm3/h (50~150Nm3/h), 300Nm3/h (200~400Nm3/h), 500Nm3/h (400~700Nm3/h), 1000Nm3/h (800~1500Nm3/h).sly.
